Welcome to the BRAZZ family. This guide will help you understand, set, and care for your mechanical timepiece — a machine built to last generations.
Your BRAZZ timepiece is powered by a Japanese automatic movement from the NH series (such as the NH35A, NH36, or NH05). This means it has no battery — it is a fully mechanical instrument driven by the natural motion of your wrist.
Inside the case, a weighted rotor spins freely as you move throughout your day. This motion winds the mainspring, which stores energy and releases it in a precisely regulated flow to drive the hands. When fully wound, your watch has a power reserve of approximately 41 hours.
If you leave your watch stationary for more than 41 hours, it will stop. This is perfectly normal — simply wind it manually and set the time to restart.
If your watch has stopped or you're wearing it for the first time, you'll need to manually wind it to get it started.
The crown should be fully pushed in (its default position). If your watch has a screw-down crown, unscrew it counter-clockwise first until it pops out slightly.
Gently turn the crown clockwise (away from you) about 30–40 turns. You should feel a slight resistance — this is the mainspring being wound.
NH series movements have a built-in slipping mechanism. You cannot over-wind the watch, so don't worry about turning too many times.
Gently pull the crown out to its furthest position (two clicks out from the case). You'll feel two distinct stops — skip past the first one. The second hand will stop, which helps you set the time precisely.
Turn the crown in either direction to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Pay attention to AM/PM — if the date changes as you pass 12 o'clock, you know you're at midnight.
Once the time is set, push the crown back in to Position 0. If your watch has a screw-down crown, gently screw it clockwise until snug to restore the water resistance seal.
Gently pull the crown out to its first click (halfway). This engages the date-change mechanism.
Turn the crown clockwise to advance the date disc one day at a time. Continue until you reach today's date.
Once the correct date is displayed, push the crown back to Position 0 and screw it in if applicable.
Your BRAZZ timepiece is rated for 100m / 10 ATM water resistance. This means it is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and everyday water exposure. However, there are important guidelines to follow:
Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in (and screwed down, if applicable) before any water contact.
Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (speakers, phone cases with magnets, MRI machines). Magnetism can affect the accuracy of the movement.
Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, lint-free cloth. For a deeper clean, use a soft toothbrush with lukewarm water and mild soap on the bracelet, then dry thoroughly.
Don't leave your watch in direct sunlight for extended periods or on hot surfaces. Extreme temperatures can affect the lubricants inside the movement.
For optimal performance, we recommend having your watch serviced every 3–5 years. A full service includes cleaning, re-lubrication, and regulation of the movement.
